Because most goods move internationally over the seas, and because of its alarming increase, piracy’s adverse effects are being felt in the world economy. No one can ignore its consequences. Piracy affects insurance costs, production and distribution throughout the economy, the shipping industry, crews, the allocation of military and other resources, as well consumers. This Maritime Security seminar sponsored by The Draco Group, in conjunction with ASIS International, will present facts, challenges, and current and effective responses to piracy.
